Blocking Audrey

Friday, September 17th, 2004

The pieces of Audrey are lying around on towels on my hardwood floor at home (hoping it doesn’t damage the floor!). I pinned them out to the right sizes (although there is no width measurement for the sleeves) and sprayed them down with water. Usually people say never press or block ribbing, so I didn’t use an iron in the process. I’m just letting the wet pieces dry on their own. I hope it’s going to work out ok!

How much yarn is too much yarn?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2004

I’ve spent too much time online ordering too much yarn from too many different shops! I’ve ordered five skeins of Colinette Point 5 in Cherry off E-bay for the lovely “Very Cherry” sweater (Knitty), a whack of dark purple mohair (Classic Elite La Gran Mohair in Eggplant) for the bell-sleeved cable pullover from Hollywood Knits, and a pack of Rowan Calmer in Amour for “Audrey” from Rowan 35… Also on order are my Rowan 36 magazine and the new Ribbon Twist book (also from Rowan!).

Mmm, this is “Audrey”:

and this is Ribbon Twist (mmm! can’t wait):
