Weaving and stilettos

Waaaaay back in June, Irene took this photo of me weaving on my blanket at Place des Arts and I just got a copy of the photo today. Stilettos and floor looms… I can’t imagine it any other way

THAT is awesome.
Cool shoes!
I find that I can only use the presser foot thingy on my sewing machine if I’m barefoot–any shoes at all get in the way.
ROFL…. that is awesome.
Pretty weaving! I’ve been contemplating what footwear is best when treadling my spinning wheel…somehow I don’t think stilettos will make the cut — I’m just too much of a klutz.
Well, hot damn. I don’t take my heels off to spin either, and people think I’m nuts.
Maybe that’s not why they think I’m nuts, but at least now I have proof that I’m not the only one who keeps them on
High fashion meets function, Hot Dog! My mom always said you will do better when you look good. And girl, you look great!
Ohhh that is so great, and they aren’t half hearted stilletto, they are the real deal
well here is great proof that being crafty is always stylish. except maybe I’m not THAT stylish…

I don’t know how you do that! The only heel I can manage to walk in (let alone weave in) is a standard 1.5 inch cowboy boot heel. This semester I’m taking another weaving course at college and I’m contemplating going shoeless because of the difficulty treadling in tennies. It’s not an issue at home on my floor loom because I wear slippers around the house.
Stylish AND a weaver and knitter. That’s pretty classy, that is!
Forgot to add, and a spinner/yarn painter/yarn dyer, too.
That is the best picture.
That’s very stylish, I love it!
That is so YOU! I cannot imagine you in lower shoes. Sarah
Who says you have to sacrifice fashion for craft
Excellent!
lol I LOVE it!
that’s one organ I’d love to learn how to play
Of course stilettos…is there any other way?
righ on sister.
I am just starting to learn how to weave. You make it look so cool.
I love the picture. I usually kick my shoes off, and encourage my students to do so as well. But I try to stay open to new, um, ideas. And I promised myself more styling shoes once I fully recover from (ick) bunion surgery. YOu have inspired me!
