Orange you blue?

It’s starting to warm up here in Vancouver and that scratchy, heavy Shetland wool fair isle is sort of the last thing I want to knit right now. I’m itching for some lace. Being without a Zephyr project or shawl project right now makes me antsy. Gah, my hands want lace.

Orangina in Rowan 4-ply cotton “Nightsky”

So here is my respite. Orangina. Stephanie Japel’s perfect solution for easy peasy and pretty lace. It’s lovely mindless knitting in quite a nice cotton. Rowan 4-ply Cotton doesn’t split but it does remind me a bit of thin dishcloth cotton. Whatever, my hands are happy now.

Yay! Orangina! That’s a very pretty shade of blue, it’ll be a gorgeous top for sure. I want!

I know what you mean by wanting some lace, what about your “Trellis Scarf”? That’s lace, or you’re putting that on hold?

I love that pattern, but I haven’t been brave enough to cast on as of yet! The color you chose is gorgeous!

I’ve been “stalking” your site for a while now and thought that I should say “HELLO”. I am working on a “blue” Orangina also.

It does turn out lovely though, despite the dishclothy-ness of the yarn. I just finished one in the Rowan. It’s a fun top, for sure.

Lace and cotton… sounds great as a summer knit.

    Love that color!

I’ve got the pattern and yarn, but haven’t started yet. I was concerned about the curling of the first rows. The ever-helpful Joan Schrouder suggested doing the first rows in a garter stitch lace (i.e., no purl rows) to prevent the curling.

There’s something so addictive about knitting lace. I always have at least one or two lace projects on the go. That cotton really is so nice to work with.

Lovely. I have some 4-ply cotton that’s in need of a sweater. Thanks for the idea.

so this is randomly a late comment, but…yay for Orangina! I’m knitting it too…and I’m about twice as far as this photo..? not sure. I took a little break from it, just b/c I don’t want to get burnt out.. but what a quick & easy knit it is!

love that color, too. mine’s a deep blue.

    happy tuesday!
