Jen and the older vampire
As many of you know, the next Sweet Shop update is tomorrow — May 4th at 12 noon PDT — and so here is a teeny tiny preview of a few new colourways…
Yeah, this wasn’t something I had planned… but this was a super special request from my dear friend, Jen. She is making her way through episodes of Buffy for the first time and is completely smitten with Angel. A couple weekends ago, she came over to the house and exclaimed, “Fishy! You have to do an ‘Angel’ colourway!”
Jen, a smart, stylish, high-powered mergers & acquisitions lawyer for a big-time law firm is reduced to girly goofiness by a 250-year old, sometimes Irish, completely fictional vampire… I LOVE IT. That’s what makes Jen completely endearing. How could I say no?
So please indulge Jen and I in a bit of girly fun. Jen gets a set for her stash and I’m saving a set to knit Jaywalkers but there will be two more sets of Superwash Sock skeins in the shop tomorrow. Plus these…
After talking with the server guys yesterday, I’ve hopefully optimized the current server so that it won’t crash again with all those connections (fingers crossed). But in any case, after this shop update, I’ll move the Sweet Shop to it’s own dedicated server! See you tomorrow!

What a great friend you are!
Awesome colorway.
Whoa! All that yarn makes me all anxious and ready to knit. They look beautiful!
I love how the Sweet Shop gets a dedicated server.
Gosh that yarn is pretty. Angel colorway would be fabulous for men, too.
Is that Fondant in the stack, at the bottom? Oh I am excited! I love the yarn I bought recently from you: I made Marina into Braodripple socks with a picot edge, and Kissed is on the needles for the same pattern.
I’ll be watching the store!
I’ll be very interested to see your “Spike” colorway when she falls for him. SO much more interesting than Angel! (Of course, I’m an Oz fan.)
OMG…YARN PORN!!!
this is so beautiful!! you never have to buy yarn again if you spun this all for yourself.
Mmm, that’s a nice stack of yarn. So pretty!
oooo so pretty! maybe, just maybe Ill be able to get some of your sock yarn this time
aloha! i’ve been out-of-town for a week and was so elated to pick up my mail at the post office and find my yarn had arrived! i love them and am already planning this weekend, to wind the river for jaywalkers for me (yay!) many thank you’s! i also love your updates on your weaving and love your hourglass sweater - and angel - it’s a winner! warmest aloha….
Oh that David B is such a hottie! I heart him.
(But don’t ever see/read his interviews - he is disappointingly banal in real life.)
Oh WOW. I must be online at 3:00 my time tomorrow to beat everyone to it…I’ve yet to see my guy get remotely excited about any yarn, but I’ve never seen any sock yarn in his competition colours (motocross racer) and these are PERFECT - he actually raised an eyebrow when he saw this one….that’s more excited than I’ve ever seen him about anything knit-related.
I see one, possibly two in there that I must have. And I don’t know if I’ll be home at 3 (eastern) Bummer!
Great colors.
I like it. So, are you going to make one for Spike?
Gorgeous dye job. I especially like the pink-blue fusions that was hidden on the bottom pile. Have you seenElaine Eskesen’s dye works? She has a book that she released in 05. I just posted a photo of her Pollock yarn on my blog. I really like her dye works. You will be inspired as well! Good luck on updating the shop!
Arianie
Your skeins are so beautiful!
There’s nothing quite like Season 3 Angel (especially when he gets poisoned by Faith and has to feed off Buffy). Great colorway!
LOVE the Angel colorway - terrific idea! I second the notion of a SPIKE colorway. Yum.
Erm, I just realized my comment could be confusing–I mean Angel, the character, in Season 3 Buffy. (Not Angel the show!) Overexplaining? Me? Sorry!
I see three skeins I want already! I always miss the sweet shop update, it seems like bloglines is standing between me and some of your lovely yarn. Hopefully this time will be different.
ohhhh, what beauties! I must resist! I placed a big order (for my budget) last time you updated. I am excited that you’re updating again and getting your yarn in to the hands of more knitters though. I’m a big fan of your yarn, your blog, and your photography.
Ooh, look at all that yummy yarn. I wouldn’t even know how to go about choosing between all those fabulous colors.
i’m tickled pink to see all those colorways. i can’t wait until 2p.m (central) to buy.
Never seen Buffy, but that is some kick-ass color!
i am now anxiously awaiting that update!
i am now anxiously awaiting that update!
Ok. I’m seriously considering showing up 15 minutes late for a noon lunch with my grandmother-in-law so I can sit in front of my computer and wait for the seconds to tick. Think she’ll understand the dire urgency of to-die-for sock yarn? Think my husband will understand my obviously iron-clad priorities? Only 2 hours and 10 minutes will tell…
Ahaha, best colorway ever! Love it.
Oh gosh…I missed it again! I can’t seem to get into the shop at all. I hope you had a successful sale!
Wow, there must have been an absolute stampede on your site! Poor Sweet Shop server
Any chance it’ll be back up today?
Gorgeous yarns btw :o)
What an amazing pile of yarn - can I just come and bury myself in it?
Crazy gorgeous yarns!
OMG!!! I love the Angel colorway! And of course I missed it and you’re sold out. Sheesh.
And I’m with the others…. what about a Spike colorway? Maybe lots of black and a pinch of lime for the time Xander made him do laundry and he ruined his black clothes and had to wear the bad hawaiian shirt.
If there ever is a “Spike” colourway, I will build a shrine to you!! Love your work! Wish I was fast enought to get to your store before everything sold out!!!
