Shop, shop, shop

_Phew!_ As of this morning at 2 am, the shop is now sold out!

My server and I were completely overwhelmed by the response at 12 noon yesterday — in fact, the server crashed and I had to call the server guys to get them to reboot it! He seemed mildly amused that the machine was conquered by yarn shoppers. I didn’t find it particularly amusing though — I was freaking out.

Hmmm, I’m going to need to find a way to prevent future tech issues. It may involve moving the shop site to it’s very own server and allowing for more connections, or maybe a server cluster, or… or…

In any case, I really appreciate everybody’s support and enthusiasm for these yarns! You guys make me so happy!

Shoot! I missed it again! I’m going to have to see if you have a mailing list! Should have checked on that before, huh?

    I love dreamhost.com

I have GIGS and GIGS of bandwidth and they have lots of small business websites etc.

Also make sure you are saving your yarn photos out at 80% quality, there is normally no difference to the average human eye in the picture quality, but the image size goes down drastically. Atleast for JPG’s specifically I mean.

Double check all the images for your website and their size, as even stuff on your blog etc if that counts, could effect it.

I’m glad to see it wasn’t just me struggling to get a peek at the beautiful yarn! Your work is so beautiful that it is no wonder there is a brawl when it arrives at the shop…

what do you think?
