If everyday were a dye day…

…I could swim in oceans of fluffy, coloured fibre… the coffee would flow freely and music would be sweet… sigh

Tasty treats for your spinning wheel.

Excuse me as I attempt to recover from my three-day dye extravaganza. Long weekends are simply the best, guilt-free days to dye and this Easter, I spent Friday to Sunday hooked into my iPod, drinking entire pots of coffee, and covered with dye and mohair fuzz. But ah ha, I have figured out a way to package the Blue-Faced Leceister fibre, so the next shop update will have lots of scrumptious braids of fibre. Each one is about 100g (4 oz). Very fluffy and yummy.

Speaking of the next shop update, it will be Thursday, May 4th at 12 noon PST. There will be sock yarns and fibre as well as laceweight kid mohair yarn. New colours, new yarns, new fibres. Sweet.

Over the weekend, I also managed to finish the Cash Iroha Hourglass Sweater, but I decided I didn’t like the rust red colour, so the whole sweater is soaking right now so that I can overdye the whole thing a slightly cooler red. We shall see how a sweater likes being overdyed.

Having finished that sweater (finally), I started Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Fair Isle Yoke Sweater, but I figure there’s no need to post a photo of what will be 15 inches of plain stockinette knit in the round with charcoal grey Shetland wool.

What a GORGEOUS sight! And I hope your overdyeing goes well. I’m thinking about overdyeing a finished garment in the future. The sweater in question calls for denim-type yarn, and while I’m not wild on the blues there’s an ecru that I think would take dye nicely.

OMG - that’s gorgeous. I can’t wait for you to update the shop so some of that yummy fiber can come be mutilated at my house. I’ve decided I need some pretty fiber to spin to make life more interesting.

Oh so pretty. It looks like a table full of snails. Or maybe fluffy braided rugs. Very nice - I’m sure it’s very therapeutic to spend time just dyeing and feeling like you don’t have anything bigger to worry about. :)

This time I WILL get “River”. -laughs maniacally-

I got “Gold Digger” a few days ago. It was my (last minute) second choice to “River”, but I was quite happy and impressed with the yarn. I love the light sheen the superwash sock yarn gives off which many superwashed yarn lack. It’s knitting up beautifully.

I’m a guaranteed return customer. Hopefully I can grab some “Vintage Cherry” too.

What a drool-inducing vision of lovliness. I’m torn between dual urges: 1) to take up spinning myself, and 2) to knit like mad with that gorgeous fiber. May 4 is noted on the calendar. Until then, fantasies of yummy yarn will dance in my head.
