Making Things
What to make? What to make? Back in the summer, I had this grandiose plan and schedule of all the things I wanted to knit this Fall… _heh heh_ it’s November already and I haven’t made a thing on my list. And I think I’m being taken over by gift knitting!
Here’s my list of things on my “want to make” list:
* St. Brigid from Aran Knitting in Jamieson’s Heather Aran
* Na Craga from Aran Knitting in Jamieson’s Heather Aran
* Rogue in Jaeger Shetland Aran (need to decide between cardi or pullover)
* Rebecca Mag Cabled Sweater No. 18 in GGH Savanna (need to dye the yarn for this)
* Nordic Cardi from JM08 in Jaeger Luxury Tweed
* Isla from A Season’s Tale in Rowanspun 4 ply
* Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts in Cash Iroha
* Adrienne Vittadini Fall 2004 cover sweater in Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran
* Meadow Flowers Shawl from Knitters’ Stash in Handmaiden Angel Hair
* Peacock Feathers Shawl from Fiddlesticks Knitting in my handspun lace (need to finish spinning!)
* Dove Shawl from Sharon Miller’s Heirloom Knitting collection in Rowan Kid Silk Haze Blushes
* Feather and Fan Shawl from Gathering of Lace in Knit Picks Shadow merino lace
* Grumperina’s Jaywalker Socks
* Waving Lace Socks from old Interweave Knits
I think “oh dear” sums it up quite nicely.

Oh gosh, I hear ya! How about a “yikes” to go with the “oh dear”? LOL! I had a huge list of “to do” for this year too…and now I’m in make gifts mode too.
Better get crackin’!
Eh, who am I to tease, my list is probably that long, too.
I was just about to comment on how I’m so glad I have enough self control to keep my wishlist short, becausing having a list that long would drive me crazy with longing. Then I counted the items on my wishlist, and thought better of that comment. And that was only counting the projects on tier one of my wishlist, which I’ve been brave enough to type out. If we get down to nebulous tier 2, I’m hopeless.
Well, I can’t wait to see you knit all of those beautiful things. What’s up next, after gift knitting is done?
Oh my goodness – good luck! I’m afraid to make the list. If I do I think I might sit there in a stupor and knit nothing.
Yeah, my list looks at least that long too.
Heh… you sound like me. I tried scheduling and estimating knitting times and all that, and I’ve still hardly gotten anything done worth mentioning. I am horrible when it comes to follow through.
That is quite the list, I have a similar one. Why is it the lists only get longer, but the stashes never get smaller?
OOh, I hope you start St. Brigid soon, I would love to watch your progress. I’m planning on starting it soon also.
At least I’m not the only one with a long list and holiday knitting getting in the way! All your projects sound lovely – how will you ever prioritize?
At least it’s a GOOD list–some gorgeous things on there. You have to make at least ONE!
Wow, you have really raised the bar! actually writing down your “to knit” list! do you have all of those yarns already?
You have me thinking about this too… oh my!!
Is this your to knit list for the season or year? Please say year, lol!
I know how you feel, I have a long “want to make” list, too. I also have a lot of unfinished projects. I hope you choose the hourglass sweater and the Adrienne sweater. You’ll look so good in them.
Goodness me, that’s quite a list! And if it were me it would be (more) than a full time job to finish it in full season, let alone half a season. Yikes! Oh and I think you should make a cardi Rogue.
see, this is why i don’t make lists. well, that’s not true, but i try not to keep lists very much because they just make you feel guilty, a catalog of all the stuff you haven’t done.
the hourglass sweater is on my non-list, though – i picked up some brooks farm four play for mine and i can’t wait to start it – 50% merino/50% silk, it’s going to be so lovely.
Trust me, my list looks just as bad, or worse! I’m reluctantly to actually write it all down because I think my husband will have a heart attack! But I’m sure you can get through at least a couple of those listed.
Well, the first step is buying all the yarn — that should be fun!
oh dear indeed! pick one sock, one shawl, and one sweater and balance them with gifts.
Your list is quite extensive!
I also want to make the Dove Shawl. It’s so beautiful, isn’t it?
There aren’t enough days in the year…not enough hours in the day…not enough arms to do it all.
About half of those are on my list, too! I’ve been checking out St. Brigid & Na Craga for the past day or so… and now it’s posted on your blog today! It’s a sign… we both should make them
So many great knits and just not enough time. I have most of those on my list as well! I have an itch to get one going today!
I’d have to say you better get knitting!! You’ve got alot of work to do. Where do you buy your yarn for the hourglass sweater? I live in NB and the supply of nice yarns around where I live is limited!
Wow, that is some list! You have some beautiful projects on there. and its actually not so bad if you break it down – some sweaters, some socks, and some shawls. I am looking forward to seeing you tackle those Starmore sweaters!
Oh my! I was scrolling to look at the yarn and noticed I’d missed your wish list! Yikes is right!!
I’m done with the back and half of the front of my St. Brigid – and I’m picking her back up in January one to finish her. She’s to be my first finished knit of 2006. That is the sweater that really made me want to learn how to knit – I really love AS – what I really want to do is get good enough at Fair Isle to tackle one of her FI sweaters – they’re amazing!!
i love to make stuff. thanks for the web site its great:)x0×0x0×0
