Fall is here!

You know Fall is here when Colourway posts the new Fall projects on their website! Forget August, bring on Autumn. I found just a couple new things I might want to knit:

Rowan 38

I have so much Rowan Kidsilk Haze stashed that I need to make something… Maybe that shawl on the left…

RYC Classic Winter

Another lovely book of patterns by Martin Storey in RYC’s new yarn, Soft Tweed. These look like quick knits in relatively big yarn…

Everything looks so cozy.

RYC Classic Woman

More from Martin Storey… These are in a new yarn called “Soft Lux”, but I might substitute with some of that Filatura di Crosa Zara that I’ve been stashing.

Kim Hargreaves

Looking through the new Rowan 38, it did cross my mind — “why do I subscribe to Rowan?” Some of the projects are decidedly weird or “country grunge”-looking. There are “OVER SIXTY DESIGNS” but not one is by the beloved Kim. So here are my picks from her “Winter Blooms” collection. Too bad these are nearly as expensive as Alice Starmore’s Virtual Yarns kits.

I heart Kim.

Well, I’d better start finishing up my current projects before Fall really gets underway!

I was discussing fall fashion with a friend yesterday, thinking we were nuts! It’s good to know that we’re not the only ones.

The new Rowan just doesnt seem as nice as the old ones, and I really think its because Kim’s plain yet lovely designs are missing. Its a shame she is only selling her new line as kits.

I like the shawl, its pretty. I like some of the knits in 38, but I’m not sure if I would like knitting them.

In the sweltering heat of August, all I do is sit in front of my blasting a/c and dream of cool autumn days.

I love the purple sweater from RYC and the white ‘bobbie’ sweater. I’m eager to get my grubby mitts on some of that soft tweed, too.

So, did you order the new book yet? I love seeing all of the new designs. I really like the KSH shawl and the bobbie sweater w/the cables! Thanks for the preview.

Help…thanks a lot…now I’m really confused of what to knit for fall. ;-) I love Kim Hargreaves newest knits. Decisions!

I have the same reaction when I get my newest Rowan mag, why do I subscribe? I think it’s the photos, they get me everytime. I may not like the sweater or knitted piece, but it’s such a beautiful magazine.

I used to think that all of KH’s designs looked the same but they are so classic and have such elegance that I’ve really grown to like her. I realized that I liked her when I bought all of the Rowan books that had her designs.
