The Paisley Lace Shawl

Thanks for the wonderful and sweet comments you guys left for me! You did ask to see me wearing the shawl and so here you go:

This is what I wore to the daytime session of the wedding on Saturday — the dress is from a new design studio called “Pinkish Black” and I bought it at “The Block”, a kind of indie-designer shop on the ground floor of my office building. Oh! Yes, the wedding was beautiful and I saw several old, old high school classmates that I haven’t seen in over ten years (oh god, it’s been that long). A nice mini high school reunion with a ten-course Chinese banquet dinner!

I’ve been thinking about knitting that shawl w/ some laceweight I have. Now that you’ve finished it, do you think it could block even larger, or might be easy to add some repeats in to make it larger? I think I’d like a wider shawl that would stay over my shoulders better.

Dear Felicia I do not know if it is the blocking, the yarn or maybe everything else combined (and the fact that you are very very productive - gee it is too warm to knit in Montreal these days !) well this is a very gorgeous shawl and you wear it well… Can’t wait to finish mine..

I always enjoy reading your blog. It’s one of my top reads. Your knitting, photography and food expiditions are so inspiring.

Your shawl is so lovely. I also purchased some Zephyr and the pattern from my LYS. I haven’t started yet because lace scares me.

Any suggestions on LYS or must eat at places in the Vancouver or Seattle area? I’ll be visiting next month in the UBC area and downtown Seattle.

    Hi Felicia,

Love that shawl! Was it difficult to knit? Where did you get the yarn for it and do you think it would work with a laceweight mohair yarn?

Your shawl is beautiful - I made my first paisley lace shawl just to do the Emily Ocker cast on and quickly was intrigued with how the shawl was working up. Now I’m on the 10th row of the paisley border of my second one. I hung the first shawl in my shop just to look at it every day until the weather cooled off. Alas, someone insisted I sell it to them yesterday! Thinking the price would scare them off, I quoted a crazy price and they said okay.
