Cutting soon.
The sleeves are done, see…

I don’t know if you can tell but the sleeve on top is bigger than the sleeve underneath. The difference? I initially used 3mm Addi’s and the magic loop technique, but I was finding that some of the stitches were getting distorted and ugly. So on the second sleeve, I decided to use 3mm Crystal Palace bamboo DPNs (which was a lot easier!) and looky, looky, I got a different gauge. Ah well. I learn the hard way.
In any case, the only thing that remains is cutting the steeks!

Those are some adorable sleeves! You did a lovely job!
That exact same thing happened to me on a sleeve, too! I think I was using the 2 circular needles trick on 1 sleeve, the magic loop trick on the other, and wow, did they turn out different.
How are the cuffs finished? From here, it looks like they are still live stitches?
It looks great! I think I also get a bigger gauge with slippery metal needles than even with smooth bamboo. Glad I’m not the only one.
Are you going to give it to an actual baby? I’m curious to hear how it fits - I was tempted to make it for a friend’s baby, but worried that the neck opening would be difficult to maneuver over a big baby head.
Your work is so gorgeous. The sleeve stitches look so neat and uniform. Good luck on the cutting!
i’ll say a few mystic chants to see you through the steeking stage
good luck!
Well, even if they are a little different in size, those sleeves are very well done.
LOVE the photo of you in the shawl - you are so very pretty! It looks wonderful on you. My husband had the good fortunte to be invited to a Chinese wedding in San Francisco earlier this year, complete with 10-course meal (and dragons!) so I understand what a treat that is.
We’re having Pimm’s tonight - thanks again!
Oh, I can’t wait! Steeks is something I prefer to admire from afar. Good luck!
Looove the sweater…it will be very nice when you have made iy all up. I can tell…because I’m Norwegian =)
I LOVE that shawl! You do such perfect knitting… The baby sleeves are so cute too! I can’t wait to see that all finished
The suspense is killing me! I hope the steeking is going smoothly.
Your photographs are beautiful. Your knitting, too.
