Not slacking off

Yes, I’ve had my TKGA Master Knitter 1 instructions for about five or six months now… I’ve knit several sets of swatches, but in all different yarns and with all different needles. Last week, I decided enough dithering, enough horsing around — May will be the month I submit my stuff — just get it out of here! So starting last Thursday night, I restarted all 16 swatches. And here we are: two swatches to go.

Weave in my ends and block me!

I have swatch #15 and #16 left to do. Swatch 15 is a cable of your choice and I think my choice will be a “staghorn” cable. Swatch 16 is a two-colour swatch that demonstrates how brilliantly you can join colours — at the side and mid-row. Ooh…exciting.

Originally, I wanted to submit the perfect package so that there wouldn’t be any re-submits to do. But now I figure, I’ll just get it out and see what happens. If I have to re-knit some swatches, whatever…it’s a learning process.

Swatches and questions should be done tonight! I still have the write up the blocking report too…maybe by the end of this week.

Some day. One day. I will do my Master knitters. Reading your blog is encouraging. I’ve said that more than once. Each time I read your blog I need to tell you! Thanks for sharing.

It’s great that you’re taking the time and the patience to complete so many little swatches. Will you get them back? What will you do with them?

Good for you! That’s something I’ve considered doing, too, but have never gotten around to. You should be proud!

Way to go! I took that attitude - just do the knitting, answer the questions and submit. Try not to dwell on the “perfect swatch”. Don’t reknit unless absolutely necessary. I passed without resubmits. Level 2 is taking longer. I’ve had the swatches done for a few weeks now and have answered most questions, but not any book reviews. I’ve just started the vest, and am on to my 4th sock (it is causing me the most grief for some unknown reason). I hope to finish by the end of the month - but my vest is going to take a bit of time.

Wow….I admire your bravery. I also considered joing TKGA. But I dont know how much time I would actually be able to contribute. How do you like it so far. Is it a difficult course? Love your blog BTW. Have a great day!

You know, I’m all done save for the blocking report too. And I know what I’m gonna say, I just have to sit down and do it. But I think I missed my one year mark, so now I have to do that pesky ask-for-updated-directions thing.

So cool! Good for you! …And I would have to do them all in the same color, too ;)

They look great. I can’t wait to see them all blocked up and looking pretty. So how soon are you going for the second level after this?
