Blocking Board
Everybody loves a good blocking board! I always get questions about my blocking board whenever I show photos that include it. So, no problem! Here’s the info…
I bought the board, called the “Sew E-Z Board”, from an E-bay store called “Memphis Vintage”. I got the larger version of the board which is 30″ x 48″. There’s a smaller version too. The board folds in half for storage. The price for the larger version is about $65 USD. Oh, and shipping was about $20 USD. Marlene at Memphis Vintage is super-nice too and very easy to work with.
Enjoy!!!

You reeled me in with that blocking board and I thank my stars for that info every day!
So great.
i just have to say, the pic of your baby bonnet and booties totally inspired me to make the set for a shower i’m going to. i finished the bonnet—and i LOVE IT! it looks so much more difficult to make than it actually was…don’t you think? YAY! thanks for the inspiration! i was growing tired of knitting baby cardigans for shower gifts.
Thanks for the blocking board info - this is helpful. The only ones I’ve seen are enormous and don’t fold. Love your blog, too!
chuckles Enabler! I just bought one.
Love your site - will be emailing you about questions RE: your logo site design company.
hi felicia, i hate to post an unrelated comment, but i’d like to make the sweater you made from the winter phildar tendances (yours looks awesome!), and i have no idea where i’m going to procure the yarn. any suggestions? do you think the shop where you bought yours still carries it? if i rang them up, would they ship it to NYC? thanks! jess
I must second Nancy’s comment. hehehe Enabler. I bought one last night as well and I checked the site this morning they were down to one left in stock. Thanks so much for the recomendations always.
If you need another source for the Sew EZ blocking board I bought mine from http://www.guardian-tablepad.com for 50 dollars for the large one. I think they charged about 17 dollars for shipping. And it had it in no time! Good luck.
you truly do have a rockin’ blockin’ board.
Thanks for sharing the info. I like the grid a lot. more helpful than simle towels. Your spinning wheel is beautiful. Happy spinning!
Thanks for sharing. I’ve never seen this type of blocking board!
I bought one a while ago and layed heavy duty clear plastic tablecloth fabric on top. Though the pins make holes, the board hasn’t gotten wet and it protects it from moisture.

When you bought the board from Ebay (or guardian tablepad), what kind of shipping and customs charges did you have to pay to get it to Canada?
Hi, I second Christine’s question about customs charges. I have been burned by this before! Please advise.

Hi Felicia,
Found your blog interesting - don’t you love those Chinese fortune tellers? I was born in the year of the Rooster and this year is apparently not so good for me! Now on to a serious question: I’m especially interested in getting one of those Sew EZ boards. Like the other ladies, I want to know whether you paid any customs duties and taxes on top of all that. I also live in Vancouver, coincidentally! I wonder if they have them at Dressew?
