His and Hers Sock Progress

Knit me a round toe!

Hers:

Here is the sock that I’m packing around town with me lately. Plain and simple stockinette in DGH Confetti — the pattern of this self-patterning yarn is nowhere near as exciting to knit as the Regia yarn, but hey, I plan to knit through my sock yarn stash! I am, however, very pleased with how the heel flap ended up — entirely in white yarn, surrounded by the checkerboard pattern — pure coincidence and pure magic!

The great thing about this pattern is that it is so easy, so mindless, that I can, in fact, knit it anywhere, anytime — in the elevator, walking on the street, in the movies — you get it. A marvelous project to have with you at all times. Your sock, don’t get caught without it.

His:

This is the awesome progress the DH has made on his sock since he cast on (last Monday, after Valentine’s Day dinner). I’m not even being facetious. Sure it’s going to take him a bit of time to finish, but he’s making steady progress, learning to fix his own mistakes, knitting 1×1 ribbing for the first time, AND learning to use the magic loop technique… all on his first project. Pretty ambitious, IMHO.

    Great socks!

Great looking sock. I am using the same yarn for the socks I am working on but different colors.

He is doing great. Plus he gets extra points for doing a sock the first time out.

How fun! I like self-patterning yarn for the multi-tasking factor. You can watch tv or carry on a good conversation and knit!

Tell your hubby he’s doing a great job!

“Bravo” for your hubby. Your new sock in the DGH confetti is “my kind of patterning”. More of a planned pattern and although faux it looks really “real”.

I’m looking for the “medievel” looking pattern that “should” be in Vittadini’s book. Since I’m a million miles from a yarn shop and unable to check it out. Can you tell me if it’s in the issue your previous post shows.

    Thanks in advance.

I love it that other people love knitting socks as much as I do. Your DGH Confetti “Hers” sock is great. I’ve been looking for a fun sock yarn in browns. Do you happen to know the color number.

I’ve been looking on the internet for something that looks like that, but don’t find it (yet). I have a friend that’s asking for brown socks - and I can just knit PLAIN brown! I need something fun!

    Thanks so much.
