Franken Leaves

I get so excited about finishing one sock that I can’t wait to post about it — I know, I should wait until I have both done… But anyway, here’s my finished Cascading Leaves sock:

* Yarn: Sandnesgarn Sisu in Green
* Needles: Addi Turbos 2.5 mm

Left: Cute little leaf pattern. Right: Standard band toe decreases.

I frankensteined the pattern a bit, switching out the pattern’s toe decreases for the standard toe decreases from the Basic Regia Sock pattern that I used for my last pair of socks… Mainly because after I knit the toe decreases, I found that the instructions resulted in a kind of pointy toe — I tried the sock on and it didn’t fit as nicely as I wanted. So I ripped back the toe decreases and started again… I’m happy with the way these fit and can’t wait to wear TWO socks!

Wow – those socks are beautiful – I would NEVER think they were handknit – your foot and toe are PERFECT. I’m envious – I don’t think I could ever knit that perfectly.

Very nice sock. I’ve been contemplating knitting that pattern with some Regia silk I have in my stash. After seeing yours so fabulously photographed (as usual) I think I probably will.

Those socks look great! After seeing yours last week, I also joined the knit along. I’m almost at the ankle and I’ve been contemplating whether or not to carry the leaf pattern down the top of the foot. I love how yours turned out, and I think I’ll follow suit!

lovely sock! perfect shade of green, too. I’m with you when it comes to toes, pointy is *not* comfy.

Lovely! I do my socks using two circs so I can complete them at the same time. Otherwise, I’d have a bunch of swinging single socks.

Oh, what a lovely pattern. I’ve been looking for something appropriate to knit up some green Opal yarn that in have in my stash and that might just be it. Thanks!

Your Franken Leaves are beautiful! I’ve been planning to make a pair of the Cascading Leaves for a while now – I’d be happy if mine turned out even half as well as yours did. :)

Your ribbing is great – lots of times, even with the uncrossed wrapping tricks, I have a slightly different looking left edge to each stockinette band in a rib if it’s more than 2×2. Yours is flawless!

it looks like you put dropped stitches across the top there too! I love it.
Wear your one sock proud and hop if need be I say :)
