I'm in the midst of knitting this sweater too and was highly annoyed about the omission in the instructions for the front cable -- I was two twists into it, while engrossed in bad TV, before I realized that I should be thinking harder about the directions. I had my doubts about the neck, and will now rip the back out and knit it in the round. Thanks for the inspiration, and I'll be following your progress closely.

I recently knit this sweater and you are right about the construction of the sweater at times it's a bit odd. I also made the turtle neck in the round (no seams) It looks much nicer and if you can avoid seaming go for it! The next suggestion I would make is to check the overall size while you are knitting. I knit it to spec and after I finished the back piece it was huge-it could have been a mini dress(I'm a short person 5') so I really have to be careful on the sizing. I ended up frogging the back and re doing it in a size 11 needle and made some modifications in the row counts to make it fit nicely. So my advice if you have to frog is to put it in the freezer overnight in a ziploc bag this makes the whole process less painful.
In the end it's a great sweater very warm I wore it to New York over X-mas. Oh! and buy a cami to wear underneath because it's see through.
I love your site great pictures and I can relate to the new sock fetish.

That looks sooo pretty! Wish that my fiance and I weren't allergic to mohair :( I second Jackie's statement about checking for errors. I made the tube top in that book and the instructions for the strap were ridiculous. Can't wait to see it finished!

Love all the pinks! I felt the same way about the Cascading Leaves socks, and didn't do a thing about continuing the pattern. Yours look great though. Perfect color for that pattern.
