30 grams, fraternal twins

Well, this Friday, I happily brought into the world a healthy pair of fraternal Regia socks — each 30 grams — I weighed them. The problem with that? Well, out of a 100 gm skein of yarn, I have 40 grams left — enough to make another sock! Should I make a set of triplets? Or maybe instead, i’ll knit a tiny pair of baby socks out of the remaining yarn.

Here are the beautiful bouncing socks for you to welcome!

As you can see, I didn’t bother trying to match up the stripes… No, Martha doesn’t live here anymore… These are the most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn! They are just too nice that I can’t bear to wear them outside! Crazy.

This week, I also discovered that I love Elann.com. Super cheap prices, super amazing service and super fast shipping…I love love love it. I bought 10 more skeins of sock yarn (solid coloured), plus 8 skeins of cashmere-ish sock yarn, and more Addi’s. Fabulous. More socks on the way!

Congrats! Perhaps you have enough yarn leftover for some wristwarmers.

The socks look great! I too didn’t notice they didn’t match, I don’t think that is even necessary with that particular yarn (and I can be rather anal about that at times).
The problem with the leftover sock yarn….I have a bag full of it. I keep thinking that I should knit toddler socks with it and donate to the hospital gift shop or something, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten.

Wow, I love those socks! They look great. And, I always seem to have enough yarn left over for *one* sock. What to do?

Love the projects you highlighted from the IK spring edition. That shawl caught my eye, as did the socks.

Nice color on the socks and aren’t they fun to wear? What to do with the left over yarn? This is what I do. Get a solid color and knit another pair of socks using the left over for the heel and part of the foot.
