Cheating on Yarn Diet

I don’t know if this is considered cheating or a full blown end to the yarn embargo. With the DH’s blessing, I bought two packs of glorious [Jaeger Luxury Tweed](http://www.theknittinggarden.com/ja-luxurytweed.htm) off e-bay yesterday. Luxury Tweed is 65% merino wool and 35% alpaca, double-knitting weight. I ordered 10 skeins each of the China Pink and Pebble colours.

It hadn’t occurred to me when I purchased these colours that they are, in fact, the colours of my web site! That’s narrowly-defined taste for you!

The Knitting Garden doesn’t carry this yarn anymore and the few places I could find it, each skein was $8.50 US ($14.95 CDN). On E-bay I bought each pack for between $40 and $50 US! That’s practically half price! Between Christmas postal service and the [5-week backlog on delivery of International packages](http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/corporate/about/newsroom/pr/default-e.asp?prid=1026) I don’t know when I’ll actually receive this order…

The China Pink is destined to be the “Highgate” Sweater from the Jaeger magazine “Classic Knits” JM08.

Hmmm…I think cheating would be buying some stitch markers or a cable needle. This looks like the YNBA has been jilted. ;)
    The yarn looks gorgeous.

Your yarn is gorgeous and sounds so shoft. However, I think you may have to change said YNBA date to the next day of the aforementioned date of yarn purchase.

Does this jibberish make any sense? I’m just jealous!

Gorgeous yarn — I believe that the backlog is supposedly clear. They had committed to having it fixed by the end of November, and a wooly ebay purchase that was stuck in the customs vortex arrived two weeks ago (I had ordered it in September). I also have to note that you are a wonderful photographer — your photos of food, knitting and the ballroom dancers are divine.
