That’s right, Tuft has arrived.
It was a happy surprise to receive my Big Wool Tuft yesterday…along with 12 balls of Phildar Brumes! It was a moment of weakness when I first purchased the Phildar Hiver magazine and decided to make this jacket. I emailed Val at Knit-n-Tyme and asked her to add the Brumes to my order (so easy…toooo easy). Bad girl. Look at what it’s done to my stash bucket now. I can’t even put the lid on now.

How is the yarn?
How do you translate the patterns? Do you speak French?
The yarn is neat — kind of “crunchy”! I’m using the Phildar site to translate the terms…looking at the how-to pictures and matching up words with pics. Sadly, I only know the French I learned in school but this is definitely a good review!
Oooh, I didn’t know there was translations on the Phildar site. I’ll have to have a look as I need help translating the pattern for the cable sweater.
I figured it would be a ’sturdy’ yarn once knit to hold the shape as if a jacket. Can’t wait to see the progress on this one.

A good, hearty stash is a must-have for every knitter :o) Your latest acquisitions are lovely. I wanna knit wool but I can’t. Sadly, living in the tropics and animal fiber don’t mix well. I have not touched my Phildar stash yet but I’m itching to start something soon! BTW, love that shot of your Flower Basket Shawl. You can call it Bubble Wrap lol

Oh, no there aren’t actual direct translations on the Phildar site. I’m using their “how-to” section which is here: http://www.phildar.fr/fr/p_collection/tricot1.asp
