Signed up for swatching…

So in my sleep-deprived haze, I signed up for [The Knitting Guild of America's](http://www.tkga.com/) Master Knitting program, Level I. The deal is that I knit up 16 swatches and along with an essay on blocking, send it in, and someone will review my work. Whatever looks nasty to them will need to be re-knit and re-submitted. I think that it will be a good way to become a more well-rounded knitter, improve my technique, and broaden my knowledge in a relatively guided way. And probably more efficiently than if I just make sweater after sweater in stockinette.

There is unfortunately no equivalent to the program here in Canada. Apparently the old Canadian Master Knitter ended (abruptly) when the guild went bankrupt. Some participants lost a lot their submissions… all that time and heartache! Anyhow, rather than waiting around for someone to re-start the Canadian program, I’ll just go ahead and do the US program. Besides, knitting is knitting. It doesn’t care what citizenship I carry.
