Duck confit is happiness
Fall is a scary time of year. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, osso bucco, saffron risotto… it’s time for warm and cosy food. Also scary is the amount of work I have to do… I mean work-work, not knitting work (heh heh). So, when I get stressed I get eating. But all is good when that eating is at [Feenie's](http://www.feenies.com/pages/index.htm). DH and I had dinner there on Saturday: I had the lovely butternut squash soup with cilantro cream and the duck confit with butter lettuce, poached pears and blue cheese; DH had the Feenie burger and (to die for) poutine.
With so many late nights at the office, it’s often been painful thinking about what to have for dinner. So these days, it’s mostly going to Thai Son or [Pho Hoa](http://www.phohoa.com/menu.html) for pho or [New Town Bakery](http://vancouverchinatown.ca/dining.html#newtown) in Chinatown. Yesterday, for Thanksgiving, we skipped the turkey deal and DH made [Boeuf Bourguignon](http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_22441,00.html). I am a lucky girl.
