Extra Point 5!

Friday, September 24th, 2004

Ah ha! I figured it out… I bought 5 x 100 gm skeins of Point 5 but the pattern only needs 6 x 50 gm. Yay, I have an extra 2 skeins to play with! I finished up to the last bit of ribbing over lunch, so I may very well finish tonight!

Progress on Very Cherry

Friday, September 24th, 2004

I’m in the middle of the hip increases for Very Cherry…and hoping to be done tonight so that I can block it late tonight (after my food photography class!) and wear it tomorrow…

Oddly, it calls for 5 skeins of Colinette Point 5 but I’ve only used two skeins so far…it doesn’t seem like it will require that much… Either that, or I’ve made a huge mistake somewhere. Ah well, if I have extra, I’ll make a hat or something. It’s a beautiful colour!

Finished Audrey!

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2004

Lovely. I was surprised at how long it took to sew this baby up! Two hours for seaming the sleeves and sides together, two hours to apply the neckband (which I ripped four times… I didn’t like the look of it…). Ah well, it’s ok. I watched the season finale of the Amazing Race while I finished sewing the neckband, so it’s all good. I ended up doing 18 repeats on the neckband… marvelous.

Yay, and I received my Kidsilk Haze today in the mail! So that means, I can start “Karis”… umm, after “Very Cherry” and “Cheesylove”. I also ordered some Lamb’s Pride Charcoal Heather (worsted weight) for a sweater for Rich…should be here in a week or so!

Finishing my homework…

Saturday, September 18th, 2004

Ugh. Here late at work, printing out my photography homework assignments. Sucky. Spent the whole day doing my assignments…last minute of course. But, I did get to use my light setups for other purposes:

My black Goa yarn came from Germany yesterday…fantastic service. They even sent gummi bears with my order!

Here’s Richard helping me out with my “motion” assignment:

and here are the finished balls:

Blocking Audrey

Friday, September 17th, 2004

The pieces of Audrey are lying around on towels on my hardwood floor at home (hoping it doesn’t damage the floor!). I pinned them out to the right sizes (although there is no width measurement for the sleeves) and sprayed them down with water. Usually people say never press or block ribbing, so I didn’t use an iron in the process. I’m just letting the wet pieces dry on their own. I hope it’s going to work out ok!
