Crap! A row of halved hearts!

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

Doh! My printer cut off the bottom part of the fairisle diagram…so I’ve worked only half of the upside down hearts on my cheesylove sweater. I just discovered that now. Crap. And I’m done one side of the neck and shoulder already. Should I frog back everything and start the hearts again? or should I just finish it so that I can start something else? Hmmmm… I say, keep going, child.

My hearts are complete

Wednesday, September 29th, 2004

Yes, I’m finally finished the string of hearts for the Cheesylove sweater… The Kitten mohair sheds quite a bit (all over my lovely black yoga pants). So I’ve started the shaping for the armholes on the front side… I might even finish sometime this season! I left the yarn quite loose on the backside of the fairisle section, but it looks a little puckered in the photo. It will all work out when it gets blocked…

My All-Powerful Reeling Machine!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

The postman (I mean, postperson) just delivered my “ALMIGHTY” K.M. Handy Reeling Machine. Heh heh. It’s the yarn swift I bought off e-bay! Now I can properly wind my skeins of Quebecoise! French Market Bag, here I come…

Fuzzy pink hearts

Monday, September 27th, 2004

I stopped in at the LYS on Saturday afternoon to see if they had any new stuff in stock… They did have the new Rowan Ribbon Twist but not enough in any of the colours that I like to make anything. I did meet some of their new staff who showed me how to do continental and continental + english for fair isle knitting. How perfect. I’m using it right now to do the strip of fuzzy pink hearts in the cheesylove sweater. Knitting with black in the left hand and two strands of Kitten mohair in the right hand. It’s marvelous and fast to do. The next project I do (likely Willow) will be done in continental… The faster I knit, the more I can make!

Another FO! Very Cherry…

Monday, September 27th, 2004

Point 5 is probably the originally Biggie Print… Super fast to knit up…almost too fast! This “Very Cherry” sweater took only 3 evenings to knit up but took 2 days to block. The colours are gorgeous but the yarn itself is pretty pricey. I think you could use “Fleece Artist” from Nova Scotia for a pretty much bang-on substitute. Here it is in blocking mode:
